The mission of the Merrimac Center Education Department is to provide a positive academic experience by offering an environment which facilitates individual learning, confidence, character building, and the ability to work with others in order to prepare students for their next educational setting. At Merrimac "We Teach the Children"!


Our Goals...

  • Ensure continuity with student’s current course of study
  • Remediate, if necessary
  • Provide successful academic experience
  • Prepare students for their next educational setting
  • Build Character

Our Staff...

  • W-JCC staff – six certified teachers, one program director and one part- time administrative assistant
  • Assigns appropriate grade level/courses upon intake
  • Teaches the SOLs and critical thinking skills
  • Addresses IEP needs and remediation
  • Transfers grades to home schools including SOLs addressed while in class
