Full-Time/Part-Time Overnight Counselor Positions

The Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center is seeking experienced individuals to perform professional level work in a therapeutic program. We are currently hiring a full time (40 hours per week) position and a part-time (24 hours per week) position to add to our overnight team. Work includes supervision and direct care of youth, crisis intervention, individualized goal planning, and facilitation of group sessions in a cognitive behavioral training environment. This position is specifically for the overnight shift and will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Bachelorís Degree in a related field preferred or an Associateís Degree in a related field and two years of experience working with youth required. Requires a background investigation to include criminal history, sex offender registry records check, child protective services check, and physical exam with drug test. Female On-call Transportation Counselor Position

The Merrimac Center, a juvenile detention facility in Williamsburg, is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time transportation counselor/driver. Position involves transporting youth to court hearings and medical appointments. Driver is responsible for the secure and safe transport of youth to and from these meetings. Shift work is primarily day shift but may include an occasional evening, weekend, or holiday. Experience working with at risk youth preferred. Requires maintaining a valid Virginia Driverís License, passing a background check, drug screen, and post-offer physical. Hourly rate $15.00.
